The Lopez Family

We are Christine and Tammi Lopez. We met in 2007, and even though it wasn’t legal at the time we married in 2008. A second wedding ceremony was held in 2014, to make it legal in the eyes of the law. We are both born and raised in Topeka, KS. Christine and I have had a lot of adventures over the years.

We started out with a love of running, doing 5K’s and half marathons together. Then we bought a bar! After a couple of years in the bar business, tragedy hit both of our families. Chris lost her mom, and I lost my niece and nephew in a car accident. We decided we needed a change, as family became more important.

We started flipping houses and acquiring rental properties. In 2019, I gave birth to our twins, Amelia and Jarek. In 2023, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Fast forward to the election of 2024. That’s when our discussions about Moving to Mexico came to fruition. Our biggest fear, is that our rights/marriage will disappear. There has also been a strange acceptance of bigotry in our nation over the past couple of years.

Chris and I decided what better way to teach our kids about love and acceptance, then to give them this once in a lifetime experience. Part of the kids’ lineage is Hispanic, and my wife’s family is from Mexico.

Our anticipated move date is in July of 2025. Here is where I hope to chronical our families’ journey over the border wall. Our tentative plan is to be there during #47’s Regime. Thank you for joining us on this grand escapade!
